After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Burns, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets 11-10. Considering the Gryphons' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Greene, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Rylan Wood also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy's win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4. As for Bessemer City, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.
