Softball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Garfield hit Lincoln with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lynx lost 12-4 to the Bulldogs. The Lynx haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Dakota Blokker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Anaya Goldberg also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Garfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Lincoln will head out on the road to square off against Eastside Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lynx's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Garfield, they will host Holy Names Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Holy Names Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something Garfield will no doubt try to take advantage of.
