Valencia hadn't done well against Camarillo recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Scorpions. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Connor Crawford looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Jack Yamamura was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Casey Nickson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Valencia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory (which was Valencia's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Camarillo, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-14.

Valencia has already played their next game, an 11-6 victory against Trinity Classical Academy on the 30th. As for Camarillo, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-4 loss against Royal on the 30th.
