Baseball Game Preview: Linfield Christian Lions vs. Ontario Christian Knights

For the second straight game, Linfield Christian will face off against Ontario Christian. The Lions will be playing at home against the Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Linfield Christian has three straight victories, Ontario Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Linfield Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Ontario Christian with a sharp 14-2 win on Tuesday. Considering the Lions have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Drew Taylor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Taylor was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Linfield Christian let Luke Waddell and Sawyer Franzen run wild. Waddell went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Franzen went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Waddell a new career-high. Christian Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Linfield Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Ontario Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Linfield Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5-1.
