Baseball Game Preview: Schuylerville Horses vs. Amsterdam Rams

For the second straight game, Schuylerville will face off against Amsterdam. The Horses will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Schuylerville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Amsterdam's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Schuylerville was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Amsterdam on Friday. The Horses put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 8-1 win. The Horses might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Schuylerville let Alex Renner and Lucas Reilly run wild. Renner went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Reilly went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Renner a new career-high. Matthew Waldinger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Schuylerville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
