Softball Recap: Dansville's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Fowler hit Dansville with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Aggies fell 11-7 to the Eagles. The Aggies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Laci Neal was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Neal wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryker Graf, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double. Another was Katie Hamel, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Dansville fell to 5-1. As for Fowler, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dansville will take on Camden-Frontier in a tournament on Saturday. As for Fowler, they will welcome Bath at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Fighting Bees at the right time seeing as the Fighting Bees are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
