After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against West Central, South Newton was happy to have turned things around  on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the North White Vikings  16-14. This was payback for the Rebels, who suffered  a  26-20  loss the last time these two teams met.
 A big part of South Newton's  win came down to the chemistry between  Lyle Harrington and his top target  RJ Buckley. Harrington threw for 119 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 11 passes while  Buckley rushed for 57 yards. Harrington didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made nine total tackles (0.5 for loss).
 Although North White took the loss, they still got scores from  Eli Sandberg and  Carter Applegate.
The  victory was their first  at home , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for North White, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the  defeat, which was their fourth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 South Newton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  36-28  loss against Faith Christian on the 10th. As for North White, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  15-12  defeat against North Newton on the 10th.
