Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Christian Eagles vs. Lexington Catholic Knights

For the second straight game, Lexington Christian will face off against Lexington Catholic. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lexington Christian's offense. They came up short against Lexington Catholic on Tuesday, falling 8-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Lexington Catholic's part, Jack Sams tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Sams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack White, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Brady Wasik was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory (which was Lexington Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 13-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lexington Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
