McLean County had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Ohio County Eagles as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jax Lee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Mitchuson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Corbin Martin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

McLean County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Ohio County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

McLean County will take on Bowling Green at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Purples will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ohio County, they will face off against Hancock County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
