Volleyball Recap: Sofia Sedano's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Churchill over Clemens

Churchill was the 3-1 winner over Clemens when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Churchill was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Clemens work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-18, 19-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Churchill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sofia Sedano, who had 27 assists and seven digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Berkley Prater, who had four digs and two aces.

Churchill's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Clemens, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Coming up, Churchill will face off against Medina Valley at 6:45 p.m. on September 5. As for Clemens, they will challenge Antonian Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
