Softball Recap: El Rancho Comes Up Short

El Rancho suffered their biggest defeat since February 25th on Thursday. They lost 12-2 to the California Condors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Condors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in March.

El Rancho saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noelie Guerrero, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for El Rancho and nudges their season record down to 10-7-1. As for California, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

El Rancho will take on St. Paul at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Dons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Swordsmen have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for California, they will be playing at home against Schurr at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Condors have won 21 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Spartans won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
