Baseball Game Preview: Dobson Mustangs vs. Maryvale Panthers

The Dobson Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Maryvale Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Westwood hit Dobson with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Warriors, falling 10-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Maryvale fell victim to Shadow Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the Stallions.

Maryvale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.

Everything went Dobson's way against Maryvale in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Dobson made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
