Volleyball Recap: Freedom Takes a Loss

Freedom lost against Deer Valley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 25-20.

Mason Crawford paced Freedom's offense, picking up seven kills. Crawford got some help from Devin Sandoval and his 13 assists. Sandoval was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Leading Deer Valley to victory were Rylan Cristobal and Cyril James Omne. Cristobal had four digs and three aces, while Omne had 18 digs and two assists. What's more, Cristobal racked up 22 assists, the most he's had over his last eight games. Dominic Dolojan also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Freedom's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Deer Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.

Coincidentally, Freedom and Deer Valley will both be playing Antioch the next time they take the court. The Falcons will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolverines will host them at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th.
