The McKenzie Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Luverne 51-47. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McKenzie in their matchups with Luverne: they've now lost five in a row.
McKenzie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Mcmillian, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Mcmillian's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Mcmillian was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
McKenzie bumped their record down to 3-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Luverne, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
McKenzie will be home for the holidays to greet Straughn at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Luverne will take on Shields in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at.
