Softball Recap: Garden Spot Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Garden Spot unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Lebanon Cedars on Monday, falling 15-2. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Garden Spot saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Rutt, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garden Spot is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to square off against Reading at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
