Softball Recap: Larkin Takes a Loss

Larkin lost against Riverside-Brookfield back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Royals lost 19-6 to the Bulldogs. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaitlyn Neubert and Ali Herrick did some serious damage despite the final result: Neubert went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Herrick went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mya Bermudez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Larkin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Riverside-Brookfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Coming up, Larkin will welcome Streamwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Royals are facing the Sabres at the right time seeing as the Sabres are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Riverside-Brookfield, they are taking a road trip to take on Lyons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.08 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
