Harlingen's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Ray Texans get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Cardinals have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jozalin Bravo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Harlingen got a massive performance out of Amanda Mares, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Mares is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amaris Gomez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Harlingen hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests.

Harlingen's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Ray, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coming up, Harlingen will take on Tuloso-Midway in a tournament on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Harlingen: 3.5, Tuloso-Midway: 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Ray, they have already played their next game, an 8-6 win against Raymondville on the 27th.
