Football Recap: Shades Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Shades Valley extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were beaten by the Clay-Chalkville Cougars 50-0. While losing is never fun, the Mounties can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Cougars are ranked eighth).

As for Clay-Chalkville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Clay-Chalkville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Woods, who rushed for 100 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. Corey Barber was another key pass catcher, gaining 78 total yards and two touchdowns.

Coming up, Shades Valley will venture away from home to challenge Pinson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mounties will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Clay-Chalkville, they will welcome Brandon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
