It was a proper cat-fight when De Soto challenged Basehor-Linwood on Tuesday. De Soto fell just short of Basehor-Linwood by a score of 46-43. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Bobcats are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Shawnee Heights came up short against Seaman on Tuesday and fell 64-54.

De Soto's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Shawnee Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5-2.

De Soto didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shawnee Heights in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for De Soto since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
