Basketball Recap: Anna Norton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Calvary Christian over Tattnall Square Academy

After a string of three wins, Calvary Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 58-49 to the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans.

Calvary Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Norton, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Norton a new career-high in assists (four). Jade Ervin was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Even though they lost, Calvary Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Tattnall Square Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Calvary Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Strong Rock Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Tattnall Square Academy and Bethlehem Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Tattnall Square Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
