Football Game Preview: Bogue Chitto Bobcats vs. West Lincoln Bears

The Bogue Chitto Bobcats will square off against the West Lincoln Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bogue Chitto has four straight wins, West Lincoln has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Bogue Chitto didn't have too much trouble with Mount Olive as they won 28-12.

Jayden Poole produced another solid effort rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Bogue Chitto is undefeated when Poole posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bogue Chitto was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 248 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bogue Chitto's defense and their three sacks. Kayson Magee was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last five games he's played. Bogue Chitto got some further help from Braylon Rancifer: he forced one fumble and made 23 total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, West Lincoln fell victim to Cathedral and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Green Wave.

Bogue Chitto's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for West Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Bogue Chitto strolled past West Lincoln in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 24-7. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
