Softball Recap: Northwestern Lehigh Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Northwestern Lehigh had won five straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 10-2 to make it six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pen Argyl Green Knights a 5-0 shutout. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 8-6 win the Green Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

As for Pen Argyl, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. The matchup marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Pen Argyl's part, Jillian Bradley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 11 Ks. Bradley has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Northwestern Lehigh will square off against Jim Thorpe at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Olympians at the right time seeing as the Olympians are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pen Argyl, they will challenge Wilson Area at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
