Basketball Recap: McMinn County Takes a Loss

McMinn County was the 58-48 winner over Walker Valley when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The McMinn County Cherokees received a blow on Monday as they fell 80-61 to the Walker Valley Mustangs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (58), the Cherokees still had to take the loss.

McMinn County has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season. Walker Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-24.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McMinn County will venture away from home to challenge Bradley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradley Central will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something McMinn County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walker Valley, they will face off against Ooltewah on Friday. The timing is sure in Ooltewah's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Walker Valley has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
