Soccer Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Monterey was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against the Smith County Owls, falling 6-0. Considering the last time Monterey couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Smith County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monterey will challenge Upperman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smith County, they will square off against Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Smith County will be up against Jackson County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.13 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
