Basketball Game Preview: Compass Academy vs. Lamesa Tornadoes

Compass Academy will face off against the Lamesa Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Compass Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Lamesa will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Compass Academy turned things around against Kermit on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 46-45 photo finish over the Yellow Jackets.

Meanwhile, Lamesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Denver City, falling 58-35. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1398th, while the Mustangs are ranked 587th).

Lamesa's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Compass Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
