Hernando faced Lewisburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Patriots 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Preston Johnson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Hernando's victory bumped their record up to 16-8-1. As for Lewisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hernando will head out to take on Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lewisburg, they will venture away from home to square off against Horn Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
