Basketball Recap: Somonauk/Leland's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Somonauk/Leland unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hinckley-Big Rock Royals by a score of 55-52. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-40 back in December of 2024.

Somonauk/Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Somonauk/Leland will face off against Indian Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Somonauk/Leland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they and Serena will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Serena will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hinckley-Big Rock surely won't give up without a fight.
