Softball Recap: Clio Extends Winning Streak to Four

Clio entered their tilt with Brandon on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Blackhawks a 12-0 shutout. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Addie Taylor was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Veronica Tate was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Kelcy Sperling was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Clio's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Brandon, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clio will host Goodrich at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brandon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Fenton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
