Volleyball Recap: Sparta Comes Up Short

If Sparta was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Conway last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Blue Eye Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20, 25-13.

Meleah Mitchell was nothing short of spectacular for Blue Eye: she had 29 digs. Those 29 digs gave Mitchell a new career-high.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Blue Eye, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2-1 record this season.

Sparta will head out to challenge School of the Ozarks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blue Eye, they will host Fordland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
