With a playoff win on the line, Cloverdale rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over the Clinton Central Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Clovers, who have now won six contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Keshaun Taylor was his usual excellent self, rushing for 158 yards and four touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Cloverdale's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 5-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Taylor was just one part of a punishing run game: Cloverdale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. The Clovers are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Cloverdale is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.2 points over those games. As for Clinton Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Cloverdale has already played their next matchup, a 61-6 win against Tindley on the 31st. Clinton Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
