Baseball Recap: Melba Mustangs vs. Cole Valley Christian Chargers
Melba had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 8-11 to make it four. They fell 13-8 to the Cole Valley Christian Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 back in March.

Cooper Brooks was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Colter Bodily made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mike Lester, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
