Softball Recap: Lower Lake Takes a Loss

Lower Lake couldn't beat Upper Lake on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Trojans lost 17-6 to the Cougars. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 12-0.

Heidi Ortega was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Leanna Ortega, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Lower Lake and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Upper Lake, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Coincidentally, Lower Lake and Upper Lake will both be playing Clear Lake the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Trojans will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
