Softball Recap: Chamberlain Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Chamberlain rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Jefferson Dragons 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won three in a row.

Daria Bush spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chamberlain's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braylynn Ausman-Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Chamberlain's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Chamberlain will face off against Academy of the Holy Names at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Storm surely won't give up without a fight. Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
