Volleyball Recap: Rockford Comes Up Short

Rockford was the 2-0 winner over Elk River when they last played one another back in September of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elks on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Rockford lost, don't look at Anna Feyen. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and two assists.

Elk River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Hemmer, who had ten digs and two aces. Makenna Glaser also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Rockford has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Elk River, their win bumped their record up to 8-19.

Rockford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Watertown-Mayer on the 14th. As for Elk River, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Canby on the 11th.
