It was a good run, but Jefferson Davis County unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Mize Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Kacey Hathorn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Zya Walker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Jefferson Davis County's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Mize, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Jefferson Davis County by a score of 8-7 later that day.
