Basketball Recap: Williston-Elko Comes Up Short

Williston-Elko was the 50-46 winner over Blackville-Hilda when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Williston-Elko Blue Devils took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Messiah McFadden, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 17 points and eight boards for Blackville-Hilda. Trevor Kinard was another key player, putting up four points and seven steals.

Williston-Elko's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Blackville-Hilda, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Coming up, Williston-Elko will head out on the road to take on Calhoun County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blackville-Hilda, they will welcome Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blackville-Hilda is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.
