Baseball Game Preview: Santee Falcons vs. Jefferson Democrats

Santee is 8-2 against Jefferson since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:45 p.m. Santee will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Last Friday, Santee got the win against Diego Rivera by a conclusive 15-2. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Nathan Rivera, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple. Santee is 3-1 when Rivera posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Francisco Silva was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Santee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Jefferson was a bit more limited in their contest last Wednesday. They fell 7-2 to Fairfax.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Santee, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Santee might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Jefferson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
