Softball Game Preview: Seton LaSalle Rebels vs. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers

The Seton LaSalle Rebels will face off against the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Seton LaSalle 3.2, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart will be up against a hot Seton LaSalle squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Rebels' pitcher stepped up to hand Carlynton a 21-0 shutout on Monday. With that victory, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

Layla Chapman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Seton LaSalle got a massive performance out of Kara Collins, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Collins a new career-high. Kamyia Morris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Seton LaSalle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .735. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's offense. They fell 3-0 to Howland last Saturday.

Seton LaSalle's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything went Seton LaSalle's way against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart when the teams last played back in May of 2019, as Seton LaSalle made off with an 11-5 victory.
