Basketball Game Preview: Mayde Creek Rams vs. Katy Taylor Mustangs

Mayde Creek is 0-10 against Katy Taylor since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mayde Creek Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Katy Taylor Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, Mayde Creek was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Katy. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 14-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Katy Taylor hadn't done well against Tompkins recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Katy Taylor enjoyed a cozy 77-63 win over Tompkins. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Katy Taylor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Mayde Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Mayde Creek came up short against Katy Taylor in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 48-38. Can Mayde Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
