The Coal Ridge Titans will face off against the Delta Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coal Ridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
On Tuesday, Coal Ridge got the win against Rifle by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Wyatt Murray, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Maddox Olivas, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and one double.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Coal Ridge lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Delta posted their closest win since March 14th last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Basalt 8-6.
Landon Kennell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Alex Mack was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Gavyn Gibson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Coal Ridge's record is now 15-6. As for Delta, their record now sits at 13-8.
Coal Ridge got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Delta by a conclusive 11-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
