Baseball Recap: Lathrop Gets the Win

While Lathrop didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Polo Panthers on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-1. For the Mules, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Lathrop has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Polo, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lathrop will host Plattsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Polo, they will take on Brookfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
