Basketball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Arizona College Prep's Winning Streak

It was fun while it lasted, but Arizona College Prep's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Monday. They fell just short of the Horizon Huskies by a score of 45-43. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Arizona College Prep lost, don't look at Jaylee Aulds. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 10from beyond the arc on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds. Those 22 points gave Aulds a new career-high. Chloe Warren was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

Horizon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paisy Perkins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Perkins is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Schiltz, who posted 13 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Arizona College Prep fell to 4-1. As for Horizon, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Arizona College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-44 win against Mountain Pointe on the 10th. As for Horizon, they and Desert Mountain will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
