Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McDonald County). They took down the Monett Cubs 84-68 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Cubs: they've now won seven in a row.

McDonald County found their leader in sophomore Dakota O'Brien, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and 19 rebounds. O'Brien's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Jamie Washam was another key player, shooting 4-for-7 from long range and dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten boards.

McDonald County was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

McDonald County now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Monett, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonald County will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Branson at 7:30 p.m. on February 25th. As for Monett, they will challenge Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
