Basketball Recap: Eastland Takes a Loss

After flying high against Milledgeville last Thursday, Eastland came back down to earth. The Eastland Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 36-35 to the Seneca Fighting Irish. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 150th).

The loss snapped Eastland's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-15 record. As for Seneca, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Eastland will take on Rock Falls at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastland is facing Rock Falls at the right time seeing as Rock Falls is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Seneca, they will square off against St. Bede at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
