Soccer Game Preview: Broadway vs. William Monroe

Broadway is 0-4 against William Monroe since March of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Gobblers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Broadway is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand East Rockingham a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, William Monroe strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Harrisonburg with a sharp 8-0 win. Give William Monroe's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

William Monroe's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those five games. As for Broadway, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1-3.
