Softball Recap: Riverdale Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Riverdale dropped their record down to 9-15 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They fell 6-3 to the Oakland Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 on Monday.

Lashaundra Fleming made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Bella Waldrop was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Oakland, they pushed their record up to 20-4-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

On Oakland's side, Jazmyne Watkins was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jada Ellison, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Riverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakland, they will face off against Wilson Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
