The Chavez Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the San Fernando Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Chavez is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Chavez had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Poly on Friday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Parrots with a sharp 14-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Parrots: they've now won five in a row.

Alyssa Anaya was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Billingsley, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when San Fernando challenged Kennedy on Friday. The Tigers fell 11-8 to the Cougars. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Chavez back to even at 12-12. As for San Fernando, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Chavez came out on top in a nail-biter against San Fernando in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
