Baseball Game Preview: Smithfield-Selma Spartans vs. Fike Demons

Smithfield-Selma is 0-7 against Fike since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to face off against the Demons at 6:00 p.m. Smithfield-Selma has given up an average of 13.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Smithfield-Selma is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 30th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 11-0 to Southern Wayne.

Meanwhile, Fike hadn't done well against South Johnston recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Demons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans, sneaking past 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Demons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Fike saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Bass, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Smithfield-Selma's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Fike, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
