Softball Preview: Mead Mavericks vs. Holy Family Tigers

Mead hasn't had much luck against Holy Family recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mead Mavericks will be playing at home against the Holy Family Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Mead will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Mead finally turned things around against Legacy on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Lightning with a sharp 21-2 victory. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Maddilyn Bomareto made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 5-for-5 with a home run, seven RBI, and seven RBI.

At the plate, Holy Family's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Charlii Carbajal-Sanchez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
