Surrattsville won the last time they faced Crossland and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Surrattsville Hornets escaped with a win against the Crossland Cavaliers by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46.

Crossland's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaida Birruete, who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Birruete a new career-high in points. Ramia Alston was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Surrattsville's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Crossland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Surrattsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crossland, they will head out to take on Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
